Introduction- The Vidals
In May 1968, Dr. Geraldo Vidal, a highly respected attorney and his wife, Raffo were driving through the rural countryside in Chascomus, a province of Buenos Aires in Argentina. Just two days later, the couple would call family and friends and inform them that somehow, someway they were in Mexico City, which was 4,100 miles away. The case would garner widespread media attention and unfortunately the event had devastating consequences for the couple involved.
In this post, we will examine the strange case of The Vidals as well as whether this couple actually teleported.
Teleportation is generally described as instantaneous travel between two locations without crossing the intervening space.
The Strange Drive
As Dr Vidal and Raffo were driving in May 1968, they were headed to a family and friends gathering in Maipú. Following their friends on Highway 2, their friends would reach the party, but the Vidals never showed up. After some time, friends and family began to search the roads that the Vidals were on.
Prior to the disappearance, something bizarre would happen to the Vidals while they were driving. A thick fog would suddenly surround the car making the visibility for the road extremely poor. Then everything went black.
In A Different Country
48 hours later, the Vidals would wake up on the side of the road. The couple was puzzled as they hadn’t recalled pulling over to sleep. Even more troubling though, was that they didn’t recognize the surrounding area. They noticed mountains that looked like volcanoes, and the landscape was green. Even stranger, outside the temperature was warm; when they left the home it was cold out. Both felt tired and their necks hurt.
As Dr. Vidal stepped out of the car; he noticed burn marks all over the car. Raffo would see them too, and noted it looked like it had been burnt with a blowtorch.
The couple got back in the car and drove until they found someone. After some time, the couple spotted some pedestrians and stopped them. Immediately, they would notice their accent was much different and soon then they would discover where they were.: In the middle of Mexico. Astonished and speechless, the couple decided to head to Mexico City and the Argentinian Consulate. At the consulate, officials documented the story and impounded the Vidal’s car.
There, Dr Vidal phoned a friend and asked him to tell everyone they were safe.
The Strange Event Wrecked the Couple’s lives
As His family and friends had been looking for him for the two days they had been went missing, they were relieved to hear the couple was safe.
But that wouldn’t last for long. It’s said Raffo De Vidal had to be institutionalized after the incident. In the hospital, she would die of Leukemia within a year. Many believe Raffo was exposed to high levels of radiation and that caused the radiation.
The Vidals were asked not to discuss the story, but with so many witnesses the story got out. The Argentinian Newspaper “La Manana”, published the stories and seemingly this inspired many others to come forward with their events.
In time, the question arose, what actually happened to this couple?
Generally, it’s almost a consensus view that the couple was in the specified places at the specified times. There were a variety of witnesses in Argentina who saw the Vidals on the day in question when they disappeared as well as witnesses in Mexico as well.
That said, it should be noted that driving the route couldn’t have been possible. Gone for 58 hours total, the couple would have had to average 70mph the entire way to reach the middle of Mexico. Of course, this doesn’t account for things like the Darien Gap, which doesn’t allow for travel by car between North and South America.
What are the theories of what happened to the Vidals?
The first is that the couple transported through some type of time portal or thin place. This allowed them to move instantaneously from one place to the other. There are individuals who state these portals exist all over the world. It is thought they open randomly, and close randomly as well.
Alien Abduction of Luis Carlos Serra
The second most popular theory is that they were abducted by Aliens. Often, alien abductees experience missing time and end up seemingly teleporting. Additional evidence includes the radiation that the Vidals were exposed to. We’ve seen this in other UFO cases like the Cash Landrum Incident (Read about that here). One other interesting to note is the US ended up confiscating the Vidal’s car.
It’s possible as well that the Vidal’s were caught up in a government experiment or something in that realm.
Today scientists continue to test and experiment with trying teleportation. Perhaps though, somewhere, the technology already exists.
